Judith A. Gaffney Mott

Judith A. Gaffney MottJudith A. Mott passed away peacefully at her home in Webster surrounded by her three daughters on December 20, 2021, at age 79.

Born June 7, 1942 in Watertown, the daughter of P. Norris and Tatiana Gaynor Gaffney, she graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1960 and Mater Dei College/SUNY Potsdam. Judy married Peter M. Mott on July 2, 1966 at Holy Family Church.

Judy was a well-respected and devoted Special Educator for the Monroe BOCES for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her children Julie (Dave) Greenberg, Sara (Steven) Tosto, Kelly (Douglas) Layland; Grandchildren Evan, Olivia, Ali, Jack, Max, Madeline, Molly, Aidan and Tessa; her brothers and sister Edward (Teresa) Gaffney, Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, Mary Rose (John) Warneck, Mark (Marianne) Gaffney; sisters-in-law Rosie Gaffney and Jane Mott; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judy, with her wonderful sense of humor, will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through her nine grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her brother Philip Gaffney.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 26 from 3-7 p.m. at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. (Rte. 250) Webster. MASKS REQUIRED.

On Monday, December 27 please meet the family at Peace of Christ Parish at St. John's Church (553 Humboldt Street, Rochester, NY 14610) at 10:30 a.m. for the celebration of her Funeral Mass officiated by her brother, Rev. J. Michael Gaffney. MASKS REQUIRED.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mary Cariola Center, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620. Interment will be in Webster Union Cemetery.

A special "thank you" to all of Judy's caregivers for their kind and compassionate care shown to our mother.

I grew up with Judy and the Gaffney family in Watertown. She was a lovely girl and I'm certain will be missed by her entire family and friends.
