Donald P Sheley

Moscow, ID - Donald P. Sheley, 62, formerly of Clayton, passed away Dec. 24th 2021, peacefully at his home in Moscow, Idaho.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1959, in Alexandra Bay NY, the son of Donald and Linda Sheley. Donnie attended Thousand Islands High School and Jefferson Community College.

Donnie married Debra Peters from Endicott, NY (divorced) and lived in Clayton for many years raising a family. Donnie worked construction for most of his career and later in life ran the Bait Store in Clayton but his most loved job, was that of a River Captain. In 2015, he and his partner Martha Ellis moved to Idaho.

He enjoyed his dogs, hockey, hunting, fishing and the River. You could always see Donnie driving around looking for that next great hunting spot. In Idaho, Donnie loved fishing in Spring Valley and was always exploring the mountains.

Donnie cherished his time at the River Baptist Church in Clayton. He kept going until his unfinished business was completed and he was at peace with God.

Among his survivors are his Partner Martha Ellis, Moscow, ID, Children Josh Sheley, Orlando, FL, Dusti Sheley, Orlando, FL, Father, Donald Sheley, Clayton; Brother, David Sheley (Cindy) Clayton, Douglas Sheley (Michele), Langhorne PA, Uncle, Murray (Bonnie) Byrne, Auburndale, FL/Clayton, Grand Children, Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Linda A. (Byrne) Sheley.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled.
