H. Andrew Seymour, 70, of Clayton passed away December 29, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.

A prayer service will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 10AM. There will be no calling hours.

Andy was born in Watertown on November 11, 1946, son of Harold "Curly" and Helen E. Marsh Seymour and he was a graduate of Clayton Central School. A marriage to Shirley Bustos ended in divorce and his second wife, Maria Riggs, died December 21, 2015.

On January 20, 1966 he began his almost 22 year service to his country in the US Air Force. He received many citations and decorations including Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device & 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 6 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Air Force Overseas Short and Long Tour Ribbons, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Rifle Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Device, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant on October 31, 1987, working mainly as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician.

Andy was a 42 year member of the American Legion Colon-Couch Post 821. His enjoyments included duck hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, classic cars, and college football and basketball.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle L. Seymour, Casco, WI; son, Scott A. Seymour, Canastota; two grandchildren, Michael and Cory; sister, Carol and Barry Pete, VA; and two nieces, one nephew, and several cousins.

Andy (Muskrat) was my friend.
He and I spent many days playing on the creek.
I knew his grandfather TooT, his father,mother,s ister,his aunt that many years ago sold fish worms.
Sad to hear of his passing. I spoke to him on the phone about 3 weeks ago.
