Laurie Rose Burnham, 70, passed away at her town of Brownville home Monday morning, January 26, 2026, with her loving husband at her side.
Laurie was born in Lowville February 12, 1955, daughter of Richard and Grace (Wilson) Stoffel. She was a graduate of Lowville Academy and received her associate degree from Upstate Medical University. She worked as an LPN for the Sisters of St. Joseph, Watertown.
On August 6, 1994 she married Bert G. Burnham at St. Peter's Church, Lowville. Laurie was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville. She enjoyed reading, especially westerns, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Bert, Laurie is survived by her five children, Christine Rapko and fiancee Mike Veaudry, Liverpool, Rebecca Shakespeare, Selins Grove, PA, Timothy Rapko, Dexter, Theresa Dzyubanovsky and husband Val, St. Petersburg, FL, and Mark David Rapko and wife Audrey, Long Island; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother, Mike Stoffel, Watertown; seven sisters, Anne Cumella and husband Robert, Larchmont, Mary Humphrey, Sandy Creek, Robin Engel and husband Dave, Rochester, Gayla Ortlieb and husband David, Theresa Born and husband Frank, Rome, Shirley Rice, Croghan, and Eileen Greenwood and husband Tim, New Bremen; one aunt, one uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, Tony, Dave, Tim, and Ricky Stoffel.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown.
