Reginald F. "Reggie" Buker, 83, Clayton finally went home to be with the love of his life on February 10, 2026.
Reggie was born in Carthage November 29, 1942, son of Melvin and Marguerite (Touron) Buker. He was a graduate of Copenhagen High School and Plattsburgh State College. He then went on to join the Air Force and was stationed in Korea, where he met Chris. He left Korea but was so smitten and love-struck he had to go back only after a month to get her. On September 30, 1969 He married MiCha"Chris" Kim in the American Embassy in Seoul, Korea. They had their Son, David, in Okinawa in 1970. Soon after moved back to Clayton and had their Daughter, Marie in Alexandria Bay in 1973. Their family was finally complete. Reggie tragically lost the love of his life when Chris departed this life on August 19, 2012 following a long and valiant fight against
liver disease.
Reggie retired as manager of the Big M in Clayton where he created bonds and was loved by many. He was a member of Clayton United Methodist Church and American Legion Klock-Smith Post 1788, LaFargeville. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of Cranberry Lake Hunting Club. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid NY Yankees fan. His kids fondly recall the light hearted bickering between Reggie and Roger (who was a Boston Red Sox fan), while enjoying a bottle of wine together.
. He is survived by his son David M. Buker and wife Lisa M. Clayton; daughter Marie E. Allyn and husband Nathaniel C, Killen, AL; five grandchildren, Ian Buker, Anjaleigh Symonds, and Roxanne, Kristal, Patrick Tedesco; eleven great grandchildren, Ava and Avery Buettner, Ondrayah E. Wiswell and Vivian M. Sheldon.
Dad was a devoted and loving family man who taught his children and grandchildren how to be compassionate, loving, and to always go above and beyond for the people you love. He will
always be remembered every time we turn on a Yankees game, when opening a book, or cuddling our pets. He will be deeply missed by Paisley, his grandpup who adored him and guarded him until the end. To know Reg was to love him he was always ready to welcome new people into his life with acceptance and open arms. We will miss him dearly but we know Mom was waiting for him with open arms to be with her "Yeobo" again.
Burial in Clayton Cemetery will be at his family's convenience.
